“Twelve LIV Golf Players to Compete in U.S. Open”

In the upcoming U.S. Open, one of the most prestigious tournaments of the season, twelve golfers from the Saudi investment tour LIV Golf will participate. However, Joaquín Niemann, a prominent figure from Latin America, will not be present.

The last ones to get their pass for this important tournament were Dean Burmester and David Puig, who achieved their classification in Florida and California, respectively. Niemann, on the other hand, lost his chance after finishing with -2 strokes in the Florida qualifier, falling one shot short of the playoff.

Niemann is currently the leader in individual points for the 2024 season of LIV Golf. Burmester, a star from Stingers GC and winner at LIV Golf Miami, secured his place in the U.S. Open with -12 strokes in Jupiter, Florida. Puig, for his part, also signed -12 strokes to win the qualifier in Daly City, California.

Both players received special invitations to play in the PGA Championship, the second Major, and will also participate in The Open Championship, the fourth and final Major PGA, after winning the qualifying events (Joburg Open for Burmester, Malaysian Open for Puig).

Other LIV Golf players who will compete in the U.S. Open include Bryson DeChambeau, Tyrrell Hatton, Dustin Johnson, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Adrian Meronk, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith, and Eugenio Chacarra, who earned his place two weeks ago in a qualifier in Texas.
