The highly anticipated fight between former world champion Mike Tyson and famous YouTuber Jake Paul has been postponed due to a health issue with the legendary boxer. Tyson suffered an ulcer during a recent flight, and after a medical consultation, doctors have recommended he avoid intense physical training for several weeks.
Organizers announced that to ensure both fighters are in top physical condition, the fight will not take place on July 20 as initially planned. Instead, the new date will be announced on June 7. The location remains the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“Jake Paul, this extra time might help you, but I promise you’ll be knocked out and thrown out of boxing,” Tyson confidently stated.
In his short boxing career, 27-year-old Jake Paul has accumulated nine wins, six by knockout, and one loss. This pales in comparison to Tyson’s impressive record, who at 57 boasts 50 wins, 44 by knockout, and only six losses.
In addition to the main event between Paul and Tyson, the July 20 event featured a co-main event of the rematch between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor for the super lightweight titles. It has not been mentioned if this fight will also be rescheduled.
